GEB Business Development Manager sits alongside Congressman to discuss the Future of Work & the Economic Impact of Apprenticeships

David Riojas, a Sales Engineer and Business Development Manager on George E. Booth’s Illinois team participated in a discussion panel led by Bill Foster, U.S. Representative for Illinois’s 11th congressional district. The panel discussed the impact of apprenticeship programs on America’s future economy and addressed the opportunities and challenges we can expect in the coming years, and how to best remain a global leader in an ever changing economic world. David is an active member and former President of the International Society of Automation, Will – DuPage Chapter. A passionate advocate for introducing Instrumentation careers to America’s youth, David attends regular STEM outreach events in his community. At the panel discussion, he brainstormed with the panel and local union hall members in attendance on how to best provide awareness, promote and train today’s youth into successful careers in Instrumentation. We hope our Technical Training Department, based out of our Romeoville, IL  Process Training Unit will become a viable solution to the challenges identified at this panel by providing Instrumentation Training Courses for future Apprenticeships to come!
